The vision for Fort Worth ISD’s Farrington Field glowed on a screen.
A rendering showed the 1939 stadium transformed and modernized around a bright green soccer pitch. The track surrounding the field was gone. Farrington’s familiar art deco entrance remained. Apartments, shops and other development rose around the field, outside the stadium.
The vision promised men’s and women’s professional soccer with a $65 million renovation that included $10 million in private capital, mixed-use development, new tax revenue and that preserved Fort Worth Stock Show parking.
