MCPD Reports Armed Robberies, Shooting, Home Burglaries And Multiple Vehicle Thefts Over Weekend

The Montgomery County Department of Police has released its daily crime summaries covering reported incidents from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14, 2026.

In the 1st District, which serves Rockville, Gaithersburg, and surrounding communities, police reported an armed robbery Friday evening at the Red Roof Inn in the 16000 block of Shady Grove Road. According to police, a suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash from a front desk clerk before fleeing when told there was no money available. No injuries were reported.

In the 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Kensington, police reported multiple incidents including vehicle thefts on Rockville Pike, Thornwood Road, Creek Shore Drive, and East West Highway. Officers also investigated a strong-arm robbery Saturday night in the 1700 block of East West Highway, where a group of suspects allegedly followed a man from a bus into an apartment building and robbed him.
