ASHBURN, Va. — A portion of Loudoun County Parkway has been closed in both directions for hours following an overnight crash. Details about the crash have yet to be released, but authorities are urging drivers in the area to use alternate routes if possible.
Emergency crews were first called to a reported crash with injury around 12:04 a.m. on Loudoun County Parkway between Uunet Drive and Waxpool Road in Ashburn. About two hours later, the sheriff’s office shared on social media that the road was shut down.
Traffic cameras from the Virginia Department of Transportation show the road blocked off and a police car in the area, but no other activity was visible. As of 6 a.m., the road remains closed to traffic. It is not clear how long lanes will be blocked for the crash investigation…
