Gaithersburg Police arrested a 22-year-old man after officers found controlled dangerous substances and a short-barreled rifle during a recent traffic stop.
According to the Gaithersburg Police Department, patrol officers recently initiated the stop after observing a vehicle stopped and stationary in a traffic lane. When officers approached the vehicle, they found the driver and front-seat passenger asleep.
Officers were able to wake both occupants and spoke with them as part of the investigation. Police said the front-seat passenger provided officers with various controlled dangerous substances (CDS), including cannabis, along with other CDS-related items…
