After nearly losing his life in a crash while driving back home from spring break, high school senior Semaj Davis was determined to make it back to Georgia in time to graduate with the rest of his class. Even though he remained in critical condition at the time, he got his wish.
“It is truly a miracle he is alive,” his mother, LaShawnda Woods-Roberts, 39, tells PEOPLE.
Davis was asleep in the front passenger seat of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata on Sunday April 12, when the car veered off the highway and hit a tree. “A tree branch went through the windshield and severed my femoral artery,” says Davis, 18, who also broke his right leg. “My friend was calling my name over and over screaming.”…
