Armed, wheelchair-bound suspect arrested after 125-mph chase on I-80 in Lincoln County

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – An armed, wheelchair-bound Colorado man is behind bars after leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit Wednesday that reached speeds of 125 mph on Interstate 80, sheriff’s officials said.

William Williams, 45, of Westminster, Colorado, was booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center on multiple charges, including theft by receiving stolen property, operating a vehicle to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, and driving during revocation.

The incident began Wednesday afternoon when Lincoln County deputies were alerted to a stolen 2018 Kia Optima heading eastbound from the Ogallala area.
