HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Hays County commissioners have approved funding for a proposed 10-year, approximately $4.5 million contract with Axon, while requiring the Sheriff’s Office to return to the court before implementing certain artificial intelligence features.
The Commissioners Court approved funding for the proposed agreement Sept. 9, with County Judge Ruben Becerra casting the lone dissenting vote.
