2 men face up to 19 years for transporting meth in Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two men were found guilty Monday of transporting about 50 pounds of methamphetamine for sale, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

A Kern County jury found Ismael Gonzalez Jr., 34, and David Mendoza, 31, each guilty of possession for sale of a controlled substance, transportation for sale of a controlled substance and conspiracy, the DA’s office said in a press release.

The jury also found Gonzalez and Mendoza possessed methamphetamine that exceeded 20 kilograms.

The sentencing hearing is set for May 28, where Gonzalez and Mendoza are facing up to 19 years in prison, according to prosecutors…
