Man sentenced to 4 years for DUI crash that killed 35-year-old man on Fairfax Road

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A man was sentenced on Friday to four years in prison after investigators said he drove under the influence and caused a head-on crash that killed a 35-year-old man on Fairfax Road last summer.

Bakersfield police investigators said on July 27, 2025, at around 12:35 a.m., Juan Rangel was driving on Fairfax Road, south of Alfred Harrell Highway, when he veered into the other lane and crashed head-on with Salvador Gallegos Junior, 35.
