BEL AIR, MD—A minor earthquake rattled parts of northeastern Maryland late Monday morning, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The magnitude 2.4 earthquake struck at 11:02 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Federal geologists reported that the epicenter was located approximately 8 kilometers, or about 5 miles, northeast of Bel Air North, Maryland, in Harford County.
According to the USGS, the tremor occurred at a shallow depth of 5.0 kilometers, which is approximately 3.1 miles.
