BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Three weeks after his indictment, former Baton Rouge Metro Council member and current East Baton Rouge Parish Schools Superintendent Lamont Cole is speaking publicly about his criminal charges for the first time. Cole said this will be his only interview about the case.
Cole sat down with the WAFB I-TEAM to address accusations that he took bribes and kickbacks tied to city-parish contracts.
“It completely changed my life. It’ll never be the same, no matter what,” Cole said. “Well, you know, when you are accused of doing something that breaks the trust of the public, you know, people close to you begin to question your integrity, no matter what you’ve shown them over your life, no matter what you have worked extremely hard to exhibit in terms of integrity, you know, people begin to question that.”…
