Coming soon: New computer system aims to end OMV delays

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles employees are reacting to a new computer system, according to OMV Commissioner Keith Neal.

“We have had no problem rallying the troops to get behind this thing. Everyone is extremely excited. They talk about how easy it is to understand, how easy it is to navigate,” Neal said.

Old system caused delays

The system currently in use is decades old. Neal said it has caused problems and delays, including multiple tabs and screens for employees to manage.

“We were down 60-something percent of the time, and we are not having those experiences now, but we have learned to to step back and give our old system a little breathing room while we focus on modernization efforts,” Neal said…
