More Baton Rouge schools may move to later start times after pilot program shows promising results

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – East Baton Rouge Parish school leaders are considering expanding changes to school start times after early data from a pilot program showed promising results.

Last year, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board approved schedule changes at six schools as part of a pilot program aimed at improving student health, safety and academic performance.

At Merrydale Elementary, students now start and end the school day about 20 minutes earlier than before…
