Thursday at 5:30pm: Searching for solutions as teen crime soars across Western Washington

Arson, robbery, and stolen cars: All crimes committed by kids as young as 12 years old across Western Washington.

It’s a problem that’s become so serious that one Pierce County Sheriff’s Department sergeant describes it as “probably the worst thing I’ve seen for basically the whole western region of the state.”

Some of those kids have even been getting off with community service only to repeat the cycle. Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on KIRO 7, Deedee Sun digs into how we got here, and what can be done to make our communities safer.
