King County man sentenced for stealing more than $500,000 from grandmother with dementia

KING COUNTY, Wash. — A Washington man has been sentenced after he was convicted of multiple theft charges after prosecutors said he stole more than $500,000 from his elderly grandmother, exploiting her cognitive decline over a period of years.

Forrest Wayne Strong, 33, was found guilty March 17 of several counts of first- and second-degree theft tied to a scheme that targeted a vulnerable adult, according to court documents. On April 29, a court sentenced him to 24 months in prison.
