TARRANT, Ala. (WBMA) — Drivers along one of Tarrant’s busiest corridors will see major changes this month as the city begins tearing down two buildings on Jackson Boulevard in a move officials say is aimed at clearing the way for future development.
Mayor Tracie B. Threadford and the City of Tarrant announced the demolition of two buildings in the 1600 block of Jackson Boulevard to the start of Ford Avenue, scheduled to run from June 16, 2026, through June 25, 2026. City leaders said the demolition is part of a broader economic development strategy focused on revitalizing key corridors, attracting new investment and creating growth opportunities for residents.
The city said removing the structures will help open the corridor for future development along one of Tarrant’s most visible thoroughfares, signaling to investors, businesses and partners that the city is “open, ready, and moving forward.”…
