A 50-year-old man was fatally shot by a Birmingham officer after police officials said he was brandishing a gun and had fired shots in a neighborhood.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the slain man as Otis Lee Phillips Jr. He lived in Center Point and also listed past addresses in southwest Birmingham.
