The pastor of the 7,800-member Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills since 2021 announced by video message Friday that he’s stepping down from the pulpit and asked the congregation to “please pray like crazy.”
The Rev. George Wright has been senior pastor at Shades Mountain Baptist since Aug. 15, 2021.
