BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference will hold a prayer vigil and press conference on Monday to discuss the issues it sees with new redrawing of congressional maps across Alabama.
The press conference will feature several ministers who are scheduled to discuss “the deliberate dilution and disenfranchisement of Black voting power” through new actions that will allow the Alabama Legislature to go back to its former congressional maps from 2023.
