Massachusetts Man Dies Surrounded by Family in Fiji After Critical Infection on Long-Dreamed Sailing Adventure

Scott “Scooter” Winslow, 68, a longtime Holbrook resident, has died in a Fiji hospital after a routine sailing adventure turned deadly.

Winslow and his wife Claire had long dreamed of a South Pacific retirement voyage. In April, he joined his nephew on a three-month sailing trip. Weeks in, a small insect bite sparked a raging infection.
