Inmate at Boulder County Jail charged with assaulting deputy

A Boulder County Jail inmate assaulted a deputy Friday, causing “serious bodily injury,” including a broken bone, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

While being escorted up a stairwell, the inmate, 36-year-old Josephis Kwamane Wade, braced himself on the stair railing and kicked the deputy with both feet, causing him to fall off the stairs and hit his back on a cinder-block wall, deputies said.

Jail staff responded immediately and Wade was put in lockdown with no further incident, according to deputies…
