What started as a tense manhunt in Arvada wrapped up with an arrest Wednesday, as police lifted a shelter-in-place order near West 72nd Avenue and Simms Street. The alert, which covered roughly a one-mile radius, told nearby residents and businesses to hunker down indoors while officers swept the area. The all-clear came once the man the police had been searching for was taken into custody.
According to KDVR, officers were looking for a Hispanic man with shoulder-length black hair who was wearing a gray hat, orange gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt, and gray shorts, and who was believed to be armed. The station reports that the Arvada Police Department posted live updates on its X account as the situation unfolded.
