BRADENTON, Fla. – Emergency crews scrambled to the State College of Florida campus early Saturday afternoon after a fleet of golf carts caught fire and began spreading flames into a campus building.
Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue received the emergency call at 12:41 p.m. on July 4, 2026, dispatching four engines, one ladder truck, and a battalion chief to Building 23 at 5840 26th Street West. Teams arrived on the scene within five minutes.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered multiple golf carts fully engulfed in flames immediately adjacent to the building, with the fire already actively threatening and damaging the structure.
