In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 55-year-old man walking near Frisby Avenue and Overing Street in the Bronx was jumped from behind, hit in the head with a gun and robbed of his wallet and cellphone. Police say the attacker showed the firearm, struck the victim, then took off eastbound on Overing Avenue, and detectives are now turning to the public for help tracking him down.
The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit put out a “WANTED FOR A ROBBERY” bulletin on Saturday laying out the pre-dawn stickup and sharing surveillance stills of the suspect, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. The bulletin lists the victim as a 55-year-old male and says the suspect came up from behind, displayed a firearm, struck him with the weapon and removed his wallet and cellphone before fleeing.
