Attorney general investigating fatal crash that killed Jackson Heights woman after it was determined she was struck by an off-duty cop

Police from the 115th Precinct a block from the scene responded and found Giraldo lying on the roadway with severe head trauma and was rushed by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The off-duty cop who was behind the wheel of the Jeep remained on the scene and was later transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Flushing, where he was listed in stable condition. An NYPD spokesman could not say if the off-duty cop was assigned to the 115th Precinct. Giraldo succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday, April 28. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad…
