KITT Got A Speeding Ticket, Even Though He’s Parked In A Museum

  • A KITT replica recently got a speeding ticket from New York City.

The Volo Museum is home to over 200 cars including many from movies. The collection also has a 1983 Pontiac Firebird that’s designed to resemble KITT from Knight Rider.

While replicas are fairly common, things took an interesting turn as the museum recently revealed they got a speeding ticket for the car. In the letter from the New York City Department of Finance, officials claimed the car was caught going 36 mph (58 km/h) in a 25 mph (40 km/h) zone in Brooklyn.

The incident occurred on April 22, but there’s a big problem as the KITT replica was parked roughly 840 miles (1352 km) away in Volo, Illinois. So what happened? The car caught by the speed camera was apparently wearing a novelty California “KNIGHT” plate…
