COLONIE — Cuci Burger, a metro New York brand that serves burgers and sandwiches with chicken, duck and fish with an Asian twist, is being developed on Central Avenue.
Construction is underway at 1306 Central Ave. in a building that previously was home to Garage Sale Store. A worker at the location confirmed it would become a Cuci Burger (an online video says the name is pronounced tsoo-see), as do Colonie town building and zoning permits posted on the door. The permits list the owner as Jianhui Weng; a person who identified himself as Steven Weng answered a phone number provided by the construction worker and said he owned the business but provided no other information. A real estate listing shows the property was sold in January for $553,000, after about eight months on the market.
An Instagram page indicates Cuci Burger was launched in June of last year at a mall in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J. A second location followed in October in Manhattan’s Chinatown, and the original closed in January…
