One of Buffalo’s Most Loved Coffee Spots Is Closing Its Doors

This is a tough one for Buffalo coffee lovers. Public Espresso just announced it will be closing all operations, with its final day set for Saturday, April 4. After 13 years of fueling Buffalo with seriously good coffee (and even better vibes), the team shared that the changing reality of running a small business has simply become too tough to keep up with.

If you’ve spent any time in Buffalo over the last decade, chances are Public was part of your routine. From the Hotel Lafayette lobby downtown to the Shea’s Seneca spot on Seneca Street, to the bright, aesthetic café at Elmwood & Bryant, each location somehow felt like both a destination and your neighborhood go-to. Whether you were posted up with a laptop, grabbing a quick cold brew, or eyeing those insanely good donuts in the case, it was one of those places you didn’t even have to think about… you just went.

The good news (if you can call it that): you’ve still got a little time. All cafés will stay open with normal hours and full menus through April 4, and the team is encouraging everyone to stop in, grab a coffee, and soak it in one last time. They’ve paused delivery to focus on in-person visits, and Dash’s locations will stay open. We’re not saying you need to go get one last latte ASAP… but yeah, you probably should. 💔…
