17-year-old arrested on stolen firearm charges after foot chase with police in east Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police have arrested two teenagers on resisting charges after a foot chase on the city’s east side led officers to find drugs and a stolen gun.

A 17-year-old male was booked into juvenile detention last week on preliminary charges that include dangerous possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest causing injury. Another 17-year-old male was also charged with misdemeanor resisting law enforcement.

The foot chase occurred last Monday, June 8, when detectives with the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force were in the 3600 block of Newgate Lane on report of a juvenile involved in a shots-fired incident. Investigators believed the teen had multiple guns…
