Scattered showers and storms for the next three days in central Indiana

A line of scattered storms is forming across Illinois this afternoon and those storms will move across Indiana after 9pm. Shower chances will continue through Thursday morning and another wave of rain and storms is expected to redevelop Thursday afternoon and evening as highs rise into the lower 80s. The rain coverage becomes more widespread on Friday, which will likely put a damper on any outdoor plans. The rain will be heavy at times and there are flooding concerns, especially across south-central Indiana. Rain totals will range from 1″ to 3″, with isolated higher totals anticipated south of I-70. Shower chances will continue for the first half of Saturday with only a spotty storm chance around Sunday.

On June 11th, the high temperature was 88°. That was the last time Indianapolis had an above average high temperature. For the past 13 days we’ve been below average and that pattern will continue through Saturday. We’ll warm into the upper 80s Sunday and a streak of 90° days will start Monday.
