INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Garrett’s Smokehouse, a local barbecue favorite, relocated to a new venue called The AMP this past February after 15 years at its previous site. The move has drawn a warm response from both longtime patrons and new customers alike.
The restaurant offers a menu featuring smoked meats, homemade sides and a variety of flavored lemonades. Among the most popular choices are the smoked rib tips and turkey tips. The owners credit the standout quality of their meat to a meticulous “low and slow” smoking technique.
“Time. There’s a season to prep beforehand, cut the fat off and then season it and then cook it low and slow,” one owner said. “We smoke it all too. We don’t grill, we smoke.”…
