NICU babies at WakeMed, UNC Health Rex celebrate July 4th

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As the nation is celebrating its 250th birthday, some of its newest citizens are celebrating their first days.

Babies in the neonatal intensive care units at WakeMed Raleigh and UNC Health Rex in Raleigh were decked out in red, white and blue to commemorate the United States of America’s landmark milestone.

Stars, stripes, top hats and even a mini Statue of Liberty crown adorned some of the hospitals’ smallest patients, bringing smiles to their parents and families and giving them heartwarming memories during what can be a difficult time…
