Kenyan citizen sentenced for illegal firearm possession
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A man who is reportedly illegally in the United States has been sentenced for illegally possessing a firearm. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, in November 2025, 39-year-old Stanley Amalemba Ambeyi, plead guilty to the charge of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Ambeyi is a citizen of Kenya.
Woman accused of spraying child with bear spray in Leeds
LEEDS, Ala. (WBRC) - A woman is charged with child abuse torture and accused of spraying a minor with bear spray, according to court records. Christie Lashay Williams, 37, was arrested on Monday, April 6, and has bonded out of the Jefferson County Jail. Leeds Police are leading this investigation.

Alabama man arrested after allegedly trying to enter cars in hotel parking lot
An Alabama man was arrested in a hotel parking lot here after he was found drunk in the front seat of someone else’s car this weekend, authorities said. The man, Lawrence Stockton, 63, 2120 Roberta Road, Birmingham, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering a vehicle, public drunk and disorderly conduct, Chief Eric Lyons said.
