North Charleston man pleads guilty in 2020 deadly crime spree

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced that a man has pleaded guilty following a 2020 crime spree that left one person dead.

Darcellus Fishburne, 21, pleaded guilty to murder, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery, Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office spokesperson Ashley Kay said.

The crime spree began when Fishburne, who was a minor at the time, and two other teenagers were in a recently stolen car and drove from North Charleston to downtown Charleston around 5:45 a.m. on July 17. It started when two of the suspects approached a 74-year-old woman on Archdale Street, where she was held at gunpoint while they demanded her money…
