Summerville man charged after fleeing DUI crash in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Summerville man was arrested Sunday night after police said he caused an accident while driving under the influence and fled the scene in North Charleston.

North Charleston police responded around 9 p.m. to a crash at Dorchester Road and Marilyn Drive, where officers found a woman with sustained injuries standing outside her damaged vehicle with the airbag deployed. Witnesses told officers the driver of the other vehicle ran from the scene toward a nearby home.

Police later located the suspect, identified as Romeigus Maurice Brown, at the residence and took him into custody on a charge of Failure to Render Aid and Provide Information…
