‘Safe, ethical, effective:’ Charleston County schools set AI rules, review screen time

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston County School District is continuing to work to define the role artificial intelligence (AI) has in its schools.

AI is at students’ fingertips, and the Charleston County School District is taking a hard look at how this tool will and can be used in the classroom. Under the approved guidelines, the district will provide recommended guidance for teachers’ discretion in using generative AI for academic work.
