SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — Summerville Methodist Church is one step closer to building a permanent home in the Newington Plantation area, but some residents say the zoning request tied to the proposal could open the door to future multifamily development.
The Summerville Town Council is expected to make a final decision on the request during its meeting on Thursday night.
The proposal involves two parcels near King Charles Circle off Berlin G. Meyers Parkway, a 33-acre tract owned by the Town of Summerville and a 4-acre parcel owned by Dorchester County.
