One person dead following vehicle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — A driver traveling the wrong way was found dead Thursday morning after crashing into the woods in North Charleston, according to police.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded around 5:39 a.m. after receiving an iPhone crash notification near U.S. Highway 52 and NAD Road.

Investigators said the SUV had veered off the roadway and crashed into a wooded area. The driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene…
