Teen arrested for bringing handgun to North Charleston McDonald’s

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 17-year-old was arrested Monday evening after police said he was found carrying a handgun at the McDonald’s on West Montague Avenue.

Officers responded around 5:30 p.m after a complainant reported seeing the teenager with a firearm in surveillance footage recorded the previous day, North Charleston Police said. Authorities were alerted again when the juvenile returned to the restaurant on Monday, prompting officers to respond.

When officers located the teen, they instructed him not to place his hands in his pockets and asked whether he was carrying any weapons, according to police. The juvenile told officers he had a gun tucked into the back of his waistband…
