DUNLAP, Tenn. — A Chattanooga man is facing multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Dunlap led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.
According to the Dunlap Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop during the early morning hours of June 7 on a red Kia sedan near the U.S. 127 and Highway 111 interchange after observing malfunctioning tail lights.
During the stop, officers reportedly observed suspected illegal substances in plain view inside the vehicle. Authorities say the driver, identified as John J. Stephens of Chattanooga, was taken into custody after officers discovered approximately 31.2 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and approximately 4.7 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana…
