Family launches funeral fundraisers after fatal interstate shooting of Alexis Styles

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The family of Alexis Styles has launched two GoFundMe accounts to help cover funeral expenses as the investigation into the 19-year-old’s fatal interstate shooting continues.

Styles was shot and killed July 21 while riding in a vehicle on Interstate 262 eastbound between Campostella Road and Ballentine Boulevard as her stepfather drove her to work at Biscuits & Bird restaurant.

The driver, 39-year-old Cortez Ames, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. Styles, who was riding in the passenger seat, suffered fatal injuries…
