NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– Giving back to the Hampton Roads area that has supported him in many ways, a popular DJ is set to host his fifth annual community day.
Izzy’s Community Day is set to take place on August 8 at Lafayette Park in Norfolk from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. This free event will feature free bookbags, food, haircuts, financial literacy workshops, health screenings and so much more.
Derrick Isabell, better known as Izzy the DJ, puts this event together on his birthday weekend each year to give back to the community that has poured into him. Isabell says he moved to this area when he transferred to Norfolk State University from Georgia. He says this is his thank you to the community that has “adopted him”.
