PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for most of Hampton Roads as showers and thunderstorms are moving into the region Tuesday afternoon.

At 3:16 p.m., an “imminent threat alert” went out on phones across the region.
The threat from the National Weather Service stated, “A flash flood warning is in effect for this area until 6 p.m. ET. This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.”
