CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Five people and a pet were displaced after a house fire on Gust Lane in Chesapeake Sunday morning, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.
On Aug. 9, units responded to a residential structure fire in the 1300 block of Gust Lane. When firefighters arrived to the scene at 11:12 a.m., they saw smoke coming from the front of the house. Crews used multiple hoselines to start an interior fire attack.
After entering the house, firefighters discovered a fire in the house’s bedroom area. The fire was marked out at 11:41 a.m.
Residents were inside the house when the fire happened, and they safely evacuated it before firefighters arrived. Four adults, one child and a pet were displaced due to the house being damaged. The Red Cross is now helping them with lodging arrangements. There were no injuries…
