Norfolk Artist Creates Soul Paintings of Animals

When Nicole Harp’s mother developed dementia, she discovered something unexpected—pure consciousness shining through the illness. “It was like looking straight through to her heart,” Harp recalls. That profound experience of seeing beyond the surface awakened her intuitive gifts. Drawing on her design background, Harp channeled this new awareness into art, creating “Mom and Me”—a canvas capturing the spiritual connection with her mother that became her first soul painting.

From that breakthrough, and tapping into her love of animals, Harp evolved into a psychic intuitive for people and animals alike. But it’s her lifelong bond with animals that now flows through much of her artwork.

Today, from her Norfolk studio, Harp creates “soul paintings”—vibrant works that capture animals’ emotional essence through color and form. With just a photo and a phone call, she taps into what she calls “heart consciousness,” serving as a messenger between soul and canvas. She consults for all animal species, both living and beyond, offering insights into their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her soul paintings visually reconnect people with their pets’ essence, while her intuitive readings foster deeper bonds through the unconditional love animals offer.
