What began as a conversation on a local radio show more than 50 years ago has grown into one of Christian County’s most important institutions for preserving local history.
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will celebrate its 50th anniversary July 11 with a community birthday party that honors both the organization’s origins and the people who helped make it a lasting part of the community.
The celebration, scheduled for noon on East 9th Street in front of the Pennyroyal Area Museum, will feature a Pioneer’s Barbecue lunch, live music from the Todd County Boys and a recreation of the radio program that helped launch the museum in the 1970s…
