TAMPA, Fla. – A Monday night drive turned fatal for an 80-year-old Tampa man after he lost control of his pickup truck on State Road 60. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 8:50 PM on May 11, 2026.
The man was heading westbound in a Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle drifted off the road just west of Kelsey Lane. According to state troopers, the truck left the pavement, smashed through a roadway sign, and eventually slammed into a ditch.
Emergency crews transported the driver to a nearby hospital, but his injuries were severe. He was later pronounced dead by medical staff…
