Local man convicted of raping 12-year-old wanted by police

(WJW) – A man convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl is wanted by police in Ohio.

According to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force , a reward is being offered for information that could lead to the capture of Daeron Slars. On March 25, officials identified Slars as their “Fugitive of the Week.”

Warrant: Man ‘forcibly’ pushed woman out of SUV

The 56-year-old is known to frequent Cleveland and Lorain County areas, according to a press release. He is wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the United States Marshals Service for a parole violation. He is also wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender.

According to the Ohio sex offender website , Slars was convicted of rape in 2002. The victim was a 12-year-old girl. His last known address is listed on W. 160th Street in Cleveland.

Officials describe Slars as 5 feet 11 inches and about 220 pounds. He has a tattoo of a tiger on his upper right arm, a tattoo of a snake and heart on his upper left arm, and a tattoo of a skull/animal on his chest.
