Last day of some meaningful moisture before hot and dry pattern

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Friday brings one more round of meaningful moisture and thunderstorm chances before we transition into a much hotter and drier weather pattern.

We’ll start the day on a pleasant note with plenty of sunshine and quiet conditions through the first half of the day. As we head into the afternoon, clouds will begin to build, allowing showers and thunderstorms to develop. Storm coverage will be more isolated around the Pikes Peak region, while the greatest chance for stronger storms will be across the southeastern corner of the state.

The strongest storms could produce gusty winds and hail, especially over the eastern plains. We’ll also be keeping a close eye on strong outflow winds, which can kick up additional storms and keep conditions breezy into the evening…
