COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Almost a year after Columbus city council voted to remove Isaiah Hugley as city manager, Columbus Mayor Skip Henderson made a nomination former Columbus Councilor and business executive Tyson Begly to serve as the city’s next city manager, citing his background in finance, operations and public service.
Henderson announced the nomination Tuesday, calling Begly a leader with the “vision, integrity, and collaborative leadership” needed to guide Columbus forward. The announcement came after an executive session to discuss personnel at the end of Tuesday’s city council meeting.
Begly currently serves as chief financial officer for Highline, a West Point-based broadband company focused on expanding internet access in rural communities.
